By 2020, Bill had grown more quiet; less talkative than his normal Sometimes-not-talk-a-lot self. i think his silences were in part due to hearing loss. from YEARS of wayyy too loud music — esp recently w/the headset. HOW LONG HAD HE BEEN IN HIS APT W/THAT DA*N CONTRAPTION?! DID HE HAVE IT B4 MOVED INTO THOSE PLACES? and his refusal to wear the VA issued hearing aides didn’t lend to conversations.
but. some of his Silence is what happens to ppl who live alone. and live Alone...
anyhow… April 10 2021, a few days b4 evan’s EARTHday–when bill asked if my offer for him to move in w/me was still open and my world started turning upside down!–evan and bill and MyChocolates were here. i told bill about vashti’s Seven Last Words Easter sermon at WABC [bishop vashti mckenzie]. he didn’t respond to what i thought/think was profound about bishop mckenzie’s prayer. instead, he brought up another woman, and i emailed family for clarity…

Hey e—Yesday willie and I were talking bout Bishop McKenzie. He mentioned a really sharp, visionary Af woman. She is head of an organization in Africa w/the word “Union” in the title.
